MESSAGE FROM CATHY WOOLVERIDGE – Chairman of Chesham Bois Parish Council
“Having taken into account the latest advice from the Government in relation to the Covid-19 virus, I notify residents that the Extraordinary Meeting scheduled for 18th March 2020 to discuss the Planning Application relating to the Redevelopment of the Parish Centre has been cancelled.
We have yet to hear whether the Planning Authority, Chiltern District Council, will delay the deadline for a response, but even if they don’t, I believe that the importance of our response as a Statutory consultee is outweighed by our duty to protect our staff, ourselves and the public from potential exposure to the virus by restricting all but essential social contact.
Our Clerk will write to CDC Planning before the consultation deadline of the 24th, explaining that we are not able to come to a decision as a Council at this point (currently the law states that we have to meet at a physical place and the public must be allowed to attend which effectively prohibits any form of virtual meeting).
